The Georgia Department of Transportation (Georgia DOT) has announced that temporary overnight traffic control operations will take place as part of the ongoing Transform 285/400 project. The work is scheduled to begin on Wednesday, July 30, at 9 p.m., and continue until 5 a.m. the following morning, weather permitting.

According to the department, contractors will conduct traffic signal work during these hours as part of punch list activities. While traffic signals will remain operational, drivers should expect intermittent traffic stops in affected areas. Emergency vehicles will continue to have access to local hospitals throughout the operation.

The locations where overnight traffic control operations are planned include Mt. Vernon Highway between Barfield Road and Crestline Parkway; Peachtree Dunwoody Road between Lake Hearn Drive and the I-285 eastbound off-ramp; Peachtree Dunwoody Road at both I-285 eastbound and westbound ramps; Abernathy Road between Barfield Road and Peachtree Dunwoody Road; Glenridge Drive at I-285; and Ashford Dunwoody Road at I-285.

The Georgia DOT cautions motorists that exact construction dates may change due to weather or other factors. “Motorists are cautioned to reduce their speed while traveling through work zones. Pay attention and watch for workers,” states the advisory from Georgia DOT.

Drivers are encouraged to check real-time updates on roadwork status and traffic conditions before traveling by calling 511, visiting http://www.511ga.org/, or downloading the Georgia 511 app.
