State Representative Arlene Beckles (D-Norcross) is set to host a community town hall meeting for Norcross residents on Tuesday, August 26, 2025. The event will take place at the Norcross Community Center at 6:30 p.m.
“This town hall is about transparency, accountability and engagement,” said Rep. Beckles. “Your voice, your concerns, your solutions. We look forward to hearing from residents and businesses as we work to grow our future together.”
The forum aims to give community members a chance to speak directly with local leaders about issues affecting Norcross and parts of unincorporated Gwinnett County within District 96. Rep. Beckles will be joined by State Senators Nabilah Islam-Parkes (D-Duluth) and Sheikh Rahman (D-Lawrenceville), Councilmember Josh Bare, Tax Commissioner Denise Mitchell, Norcross Police Chief Bill Grogan, and Economic Development Director David Versel.
Discussion topics will include updates from the Georgia General Assembly, an outlook on the upcoming 2026 legislative session, city developments focusing on public safety and economic growth, as well as matters related to local taxes.
Gordon Tomlinson, Esq., will serve as moderator for the event. The meeting is open to all members of the public.
Jon G. Burns has represented Georgia’s 159th House District since being elected in 2005 after Ray Holland served in that position (https://www.house.ga.gov/representatives/en-US/member.aspx?Member=93&Session=27).
