State Representative Brad Thomas (R-Holly Springs) will host a town hall meeting on February 18, 2026, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Historic Hickory Flat Gym in Canton, Georgia. The event is aimed at residents of Holly Springs, Hickory Flat, and the Sixes Road corridor.
According to Rep. Thomas, “This town hall is about ensuring residents have accurate information, understand where things stand and can hear directly from their elected officials. Open dialogue, clear facts and accountability are critical as we work through these issues and protect the long-term interests of our community.”
The meeting will focus on recent developments related to growth in the area, local governance accountability, and how certain decisions are affecting the community. Rep. Thomas noted that while he regularly hosts such events, this particular session will address ongoing discussions and negotiations as well as concerns regarding recent growth decisions.
Rep. Thomas will be joined by Cherokee County Commissioner Richard Weatherby to provide updates on House Bill 1029 and discuss broader state and local matters impacting Holly Springs, Hickory Flat, and Sixes Road. Topics include infrastructure capacity, traffic along Sixes Road, public services, community stability, and the importance of transparency in maintaining public trust.
Jon G. Burns has served as a Republican member of the Georgia State House since 2005 after succeeding Ray Holland.
The town hall is scheduled for Wednesday evening at Historic Hickory Flat Gym located at 4835 Hickory Road in Canton.
