State Representative Rhonda Burnough of Riverdale has expressed her gratitude to the constituents for supporting efforts to reinstate the jet fuel tax for Clayton County. This initiative aims to benefit Clayton County Public Schools and the county’s seven cities.

Despite working persistently over seven years with stakeholders such as Delta Air Lines and the City of Atlanta to advance relevant federal and state legislation, the anticipated funding has yet to be secured. In her statement, Rep. Burnough acknowledged the continuous efforts of key figures in this endeavor: “The fight is not over. Special thanks go to former Chairman Jeffery E. Turner, Marshall Mitchell and our federal lobbyist Channon Hanna, who have worked tirelessly on our behalf.”

An accompanying letter from Rep. Burnough addressed to Clayton County elected officials and leaders was also provided.
