State Representative Demetrius Douglas, a Democrat from Stockbridge, will hold an event at the Georgia State Capitol to promote Neurotherapy Awareness Months. The event is scheduled for Wednesday, January 28, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in room 216 of the Capitol.
The initiative aims to designate January and August as months dedicated to neurotherapy awareness. Organizers hope to highlight non-invasive and evidence-based treatments for brain health in response to increasing concerns about mental health.
Neurotherapy involves various techniques designed to improve brain and nervous system function without surgery or medication. These include brain mapping (qEEG), neurofeedback, biofeedback, heart rate variability training, hemoencephalography, neurostimulation, and interactive metronome training. According to supporters, these methods can help the brain regulate itself better and may lead to improvements in focus, emotional stability, sleep quality, learning abilities, and overall cognitive performance.
Rep. Demetrius Douglas is listed as the host of the event.
Burns was elected as a Republican representative for Georgia’s 159th House District in 2005 after Ray Holland stepped down.
