State Representative Eric Bell announced on March 27 that he will host the second annual “Prayer Day: Pray-a-Thon at the Capitol” on Tuesday, March 31, from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. The event will take place at the South Wing Steps of the Georgia State Capitol.
The gathering aims to bring together community members, faith leaders, and advocates to offer prayers for Georgia. Organizers say it is an opportunity for people across different backgrounds to unite in support of their communities and seek guidance.
“In times like these, we must come together in faith and stand in the gap for our communities,” Rep. Bell said. “This Pray-a-Thon is an opportunity to cover our state in prayer—to uplift what is good, to challenge what is unjust and to seek divine guidance for the path ahead.”
Attendees are encouraged by Bell to join at any time during the event’s duration.
While Rep. Bell represents Jonesboro as a Democrat, other members of Georgia’s legislature also have longstanding service records. Burns, a Republican, was elected to the Georgia State House in 2005 to represent the state’s 159th House District, replacing previous state representative Ray Holland according to the provided information.
The event highlights ongoing efforts by lawmakers and community leaders in Georgia who seek ways for residents from all walks of life to engage with issues facing their state.
