State Representative Mary Ann Santos, representing McDonough, has joined the Georgia-Japan Legislative Caucus. The caucus aims to enhance economic and cultural ties between Georgia and Japan.

“I am excited about deepening this partnership,” said Rep. Santos. “By actively engaging in initiatives like the Georgia-Japan Legislative Caucus and fostering strong international ties, we ensure Henry County remains a key voice at the global table. I extend my sincere gratitude to Consul General Maeda and his office for the warm welcome and opportunity. I look forward to the productive work ahead within the caucus to benefit Georgia’s communities.”

On June 16, 2025, Rep. Santos met with the Consulate-General of Japan in Atlanta. They discussed fostering ties between the U.S. and Japan in House District 117, which includes Toppan Interamerica, Inc., a Japanese company with significant regional influence.

Rep. Santos also provided a Spanish translation of her statement:

The meeting highlighted the importance of strengthening U.S.-Japan relations in her district due to its connection with Toppan Interamerica, Inc.
