State Representative Michelle Au, a Democrat from Johns Creek, has been appointed to the Georgia House Appropriations Committee and its Subcommittee on Health for the rest of the 2025-2026 legislative term. The appointment was made by House Speaker Jon Burns, a Republican from Newington.
Rep. Au expressed her appreciation for the new role, stating, “I am grateful to Speaker Burns for the opportunity to serve on the Appropriations Committee during the 2026 session. The budget is where priorities become real, and I am focused on doing the hard, thoughtful work needed to ensure Georgia’s investments truly serve its people. I am honored by the trust of House District 50 and proud to represent them in these critical decisions at the Capitol.”
Jon Burns has served as a representative since his election in 2005 to Georgia’s 159th House District, succeeding Ray Holland.
