State Representative Robert Flournoy (D-Hampton) has recognized the Lovejoy High School Varsity Game Day Cheerleaders for their victory in the 2025 GHSA 5A Game Day State Cheerleading Championship. He sponsored House Resolution 1039, which was recently adopted to commend the team for their accomplishment. Flournoy also hosted the cheerleaders at the State Capitol and acknowledged them from the House floor.
“I am incredibly proud of the Lovejoy High School Varsity Game Day Cheerleaders for their remarkable season,” said Rep. Flournoy. “Winning every regular-season competition, advancing 19 athletes to the state finals and capturing the 2025 GHSA 5A Game Day State Championship—the first-ever GHSA state cheerleading title for Clayton County Public Schools—is a testament to their hard work and dedication. I was honored to host them at the Capitol and recognize their hard work before the entire House of Representatives.”
Burns, a Republican, was elected to represent Georgia’s 159th House District in 2005, succeeding Ray Holland.
