Crews are set to resume resurfacing work on Interstate 24 in Dade County starting Tuesday night, May 27. The project will involve periodic closures of the left westbound lane beginning at the Tennessee state line. The work is scheduled from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. each night through Saturday morning.
Motorists traveling through the area should be prepared for delays and are advised to exercise caution and reduce speed in the work zones. The public can access real-time updates on traffic conditions by calling 511, visiting 511ga.org, or using the Georgia 511 app.
“Our maintenance team members who repair roads and bridges and our project teams who oversee construction projects are continuing their essential work,” reads an advisory issued with regard to health practices being followed during this period due to coronavirus concerns.
The roadwork is dependent on weather conditions, which could impact scheduling.
