Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) contractors will continue resurfacing work on State Route 154/Memorial Drive in DeKalb County. The project extends from the Fulton County Line/Moreland Avenue to SR 10. The aim is to improve the deteriorating roadway and provide a smoother ride for drivers.
Weather permitting, crews will implement alternating left and right “rolling” single lane closures on Memorial Drive on Sunday, June 1, from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. Monday morning. These closures are necessary as workers lower manholes and water valves and begin paving the road. Some noise may be associated with these activities.
The resurfacing project, valued at $5 million, is expected to be completed by late summer 2025.
Motorists should anticipate delays and are advised to exercise caution and reduce speed while traveling through the work zone during project hours. For real-time updates on work status and traffic conditions, motorists can call 511, visit 511ga.org, or download the Georgia 511 app.
