CJ Pearson, co-chair of the GOP Youth Advisory Council, said that President Trump is fulfilling his campaign promises, including implementing tariffs and conducting mass deportations. The statement was made on X on April 4.

“It’s amazing to see that the liberal media be so mystified by the idea that a politician would actually keep their word,” said Pearson, Co-Chair, GOP Youth Advisory Council; Gen Z Political Advisor. “Everything President Trump is doing he promised to do on the campaign trail. Tariffs, mass deportations of criminal illegals, ALL OF IT.”

According to the Associated Press, Donald Trump’s second-term agenda includes extensive immigration crackdowns and economic policies such as universal tariffs. His proposals involve deploying the U.S. military to remove undocumented immigrants and imposing a 10% tariff on all imports. These measures reflect campaign promises made in 2024 to reshape immigration enforcement and global trade relations.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection reported that in fiscal year 2023, there were 2.06 million southwest land border encounters. Among these, over 140,000 individuals were arrested for criminal offenses. The agency’s data highlights the scale of enforcement efforts at the border.

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, total tariff revenue reached approximately $85 billion in 2023, up from $78 billion in 2022, reflecting continued application of trade tariffs on key imports. Tariffs on Chinese goods remained a major contributor to this revenue.
