Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger has announced that his office will host a financial literacy webinar titled “Fueling Growth: Funding Your Small Business” on January 20 at 6 p.m. The event is part of the FIN FIT program, which aims to support entrepreneurs in Georgia by providing information and resources about funding options for small businesses.

“Small businesses are the backbone of Georgia’s economy,” said Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger. “Through our FIN FIT program, we’re giving entrepreneurs the tools and knowledge they need to understand their funding options, make informed decisions, and position their businesses for long-term success. Access to capital is often times the make-or-break moment for small business growth.”

The upcoming session will cover how business owners can prepare for funding, what lenders and investors typically look for, and guidance on selecting appropriate sources of capital. The webinar will be moderated by journalist Donna Lowry. Speakers include Anita Davis, President and Founder of Praxis Strategic Solutions; Nickolas “Nick” Downey, Founder and CEO of MerchLogix, Inc.; and Maria Peck, Atlanta Market Engagement Officer for Momentus Capital.

Participants can join the free webinar either online or by phone. A question-and-answer segment is scheduled during and after the presentation so attendees can address specific concerns.

FIN FIT is a financial empowerment initiative led by Secretary Raffensperger through the Securities and Charities divisions within his office. The program features webinars with industry experts who discuss financial topics relevant to growing personal wealth and improving money management skills.

All residents of Georgia are encouraged to attend these workshops at no cost.
