Senate Minority Whip Kim Jackson, representing District 41 in DeKalb County, will hold a press conference on January 13 at the Georgia State Capitol. The event, scheduled for noon on the South Steps of the Capitol building in Atlanta, will include members of the Senate Democratic Caucus.

The purpose of the press conference is to introduce new legislation that would require clear identification for United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents. The proposed bill also aims to provide additional protections for Georgians who may face threats from ICE.

“The event is open to the public,” according to organizers. Media representatives are asked to confirm their attendance in advance by contacting SenatePressInquiries@senate.ga.gov.

Senator Kim Jackson can be reached by phone at (404) 656-6882 or by email at Kim.Jackson@senate.ga.gov.
