The Senate Study Committee on Making Georgia the No. 1 State for Tourism will hold its final meeting on Friday, November 21, 2025. The session is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. at the State Capitol in Atlanta and will be open to the public. The event will also be live-streamed on the Georgia General Assembly website.
The committee, chaired by Sen. Drew Echols (R–Alto), was established through Senate Resolution 323. Its goal is to identify ways to promote and develop tourism across all regions of Georgia, including both small towns and large cities. The bipartisan group has heard from industry leaders to better understand how tourism impacts economic development, supports small businesses, and improves quality of life throughout the state.
Senator Drew Echols said that the committee aims to “discover opportunities to promote and develop tourism in all regions of the state, from small towns to big cities.” He added that hearing from various stakeholders provides “a broader understanding of how Georgia’s diverse and dynamic tourism landscape drives economic development, supports small businesses and enhances quality of life.”
