The Senate Study Committee on Making Georgia the No. 1 State for Tourism will hold its first hearing on Thursday, August 14, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. The meeting will take place at The Boathouse at Lake Lanier in Gainesville, Georgia.
Sen. Drew Echols (R–Alto), who chairs the committee, announced that the event is open to the public and will be live-streamed on the Georgia General Assembly website. The committee was created through Senate Resolution 323 and aims to identify ways to promote and develop tourism across all regions of Georgia, including both small towns and large cities.
According to organizers, this bipartisan group will listen to industry leaders to better understand how tourism contributes to economic development, supports small businesses, and improves quality of life in the state.
Members of the media are asked to confirm their attendance in advance by contacting Zach Pishock at SenatePressInquiries@senate.ga.gov.
