The Senate Study Committee on Higher Education Affordability is set to hold its first hearing on Monday, August 18, 2025. The meeting will begin at 10:00 a.m. and take place at the Georgia State Capitol in Room 450. The committee is chaired by Sen. Nan Orrock (D–Atlanta).

The session is open to the public and will be live-streamed on the Georgia General Assembly website.

The committee was established through SR 474 and will examine ways to make higher education more affordable for residents of Georgia. Among the options being considered is the creation of a means-tested scholarship program.
