ATLANTA — On June 3, 2025, Senator Emanuel Jones from Decatur issued a statement regarding the recent terrorist attack in Boulder, Colorado. The incident resulted in eight people being injured during a demonstration supporting Israeli hostages.

Senator Jones expressed his emotions by stating, “I am heartbroken and outraged by the horrific attack in Boulder. This was not simply an act of violence; it was a deliberate act of terror meant to intimidate the Jewish community and anyone who believes in the right to gather and speak freely.”

He emphasized that hate-driven violence has no place in the country and highlighted the broader impact of such attacks. “The pain inflicted on those demonstrators echoes far beyond Boulder and reminds us that when one community is targeted, we all have a responsibility to respond,” he said. He called for unity, saying, “In times like these, we must stand together and unite in our commitment to the dignity and safety of all people.”

Senator Jones also reiterated his support for the Jewish community: “I stand in solidarity with the Jewish community and all who reject hatred in every form.” He urged continued efforts against antisemitism: “We must continue to confront antisemitism wherever it appears and work, as neighbors and as a nation, to build a society where hate has no home.”

Senator Emanuel Jones serves Georgia’s 10th Senate District, which includes part of DeKalb County. He can be contacted at 404.656.0502 or via email at emanuel.jones@senate.ga.gov.
