Sen. Jason T. Dickerson of Canton has been appointed to the Senate Energy and Environment Committee of the Council of State Governments Southern Office (CSG South). The appointment was made by Senate President Pro Tempore Larry Walker, III.
CSG South is a non-profit, nonpartisan group that supports leaders in Southern states by providing resources and encouraging collaboration on regional issues. The Energy and Environment Committee focuses on matters related to natural resources and their impact on economic growth in the region.
“I am excited to collaborate with our neighboring Southern states as we work to strengthen conservation efforts and support our farmers,” said Sen. Dickerson. “I know how much hard work and dedication it takes to preserve Georgia’s natural resources and agricultural heritage. Serving on this committee will allow me to address the real-world challenges faced by our farmers, agricultural workers and the people who work every day in conservation and responsible energy development. I look forward to bringing a strong Georgia perspective to the table, and I am grateful to Sen. Walker for the opportunity to serve on a committee that so closely aligns with my priorities.”
In his new role, Sen. Dickerson will join lawmakers from other Southeastern states such as Mississippi, Kentucky, Louisiana, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Arkansas. He aims to bring solutions tested across the region back to Georgia for use in strengthening its economy and conserving natural resources.
Sen. Dickerson represents Georgia’s 21st Senate District, which covers parts of Cherokee and Fulton counties.
