State Representatives Rhonda Taylor and Viola Davis are organizing a community energy assistance event in collaboration with Georgia Power. The event will take place on Saturday, February 21, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Antioch A.M.E. Church Food Pantry in Stone Mountain.

Rep. Taylor stated, “This event is about meeting people where they are. Families should not have to struggle to maintain basic necessities, such as utilities and groceries. We are bringing relief directly into the community.”

During the event, residents can apply for Georgia Power bill discounts on-site, receive help with payment arrangements, learn about income-qualified programs, get information on energy efficiency resources, and speak directly with customer service representatives from Georgia Power.

Rep. Davis commented on the importance of addressing utility costs: “Energy affordability is a real issue for seniors, veterans, working families and residents on fixed incomes. By partnering with Georgia Power, we are ensuring that eligible residents can apply for assistance immediately and receive accurate information about available programs.”

The goal of the event is to broaden constituent services and connect local residents with resources that may offer immediate financial support.

No appointments are necessary for attendance. Those interested in applying for income-based discounts should bring their Georgia Power bill, valid identification, and proof of income.
