Steve Cortes, founder and president of the League of American Workers, said on May 14 that a recent Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) arrest in Gwinnett County highlights the importance of strict border enforcement.
“This ICE arrest of a Zimbabwean child molester in Gwinnett County shows exactly why America First border enforcement matters. When the ruling elite flood our country with mass migration from the Third World, working families in Atlanta suburbs pay the price as predators prey on American children,” Cortes said.
His comments followed the federal apprehension of a Zimbabwean national convicted in Gwinnett County of enticing a child for indecent purposes and child molestation, according to the Department of Homeland Security.
ICE Atlanta said recent multiagency operations across Georgia have resulted in about 1,500 arrests of individuals described as illegal aliens since Jan. 22, with cooperation between federal, state, and local law enforcement partners.
The Department of Homeland Security said nearly 70% of ICE arrests involved individuals charged with or convicted of crimes in the United States, including offenses such as murder, sexual assault, and other violent crimes.
Cortes is founder and president of the League of American Workers, an organization that says it uses research and advocacy to support policies focused on American workers.
