Georgia Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery will now accept payments for cosmetic services using cryptocurrency, according to a press release.

"Over the last few years, we've seen how much power cryptocurrency has, and we expect this to continue to grow," plastic surgeon Dr. Stanley Okoro said in the release. "We have a diverse patient population that resides around the world. We are excited to offer this new method of payment to meet their needs and continue to trailblazer innovation in patient care in the aesthetic industry."

Georgia Plastic and AmaChi MedSpa will welcome crypto payments from patients using approved crypto wallets including Blockchain, BRD, MetaMask and BitPay, according to Wozinga. With over 100 million crypto wallets in use worldwide, patients can rely on their preferred native wallet and pay for purchases with Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Dogecoin (DOGE) and other forms of cryptocurrency.

Georgia Plastic is taking the initiative to welcome cryptocurrency at a time when many are willing to invest in beauty. According to the press release, Americans spent more than $9 billion on beauty enhancement amid the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020.

Established in 2010, Georgia Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery offers surgical and non-surgical cosmetic procedures including facial rejuvenation, body contouring, breast enhancement and liposuction.

The company's AmaChi MedSpa provides non-surgical and anti-aging procedures such as cellulite reduction and laser hair removal.
