Chief Blankenship Announces Grant from Ga Criminal Justice Coordinating Council

The City of Newnan Police Department today announced the award of a grant of $67,500 from the Georgia Criminal Justice Coordinating Council. The grant will make it possible for the purchase of an Apex Officer VR Training Simulator. "Apex Officer® offers the best virtual reality hardware and technology to create the world’s most realistic and immersive VR use of force, de-escalation, and crisis intervention training simulator for police officers and law enforcement professionals on the market.”

Chief Blankenship shared, "We are very grateful for this grant and the ability to continue to train officers at the highest level possible. This training simulator is one of approximately four in the State of Georgia." 

Apex Officer customers have reported the following police officer performance improvements:

  • 194% Increase in Training Effectiveness
  • 282% Increase in Hours Spent Training
  • 327% Increase in Use of Force Decision
  • 1000% Increase in Police Officer Willingness to Train
