Northside Providers Recognized, New Cancer Clinic Opens in Cobb

Northside Hospital is committed to expanding access to leading health care across Georgia. The health system announces the following network updates.

The new office is located in the new Northside Medical Cumberland building at 4298 Atlanta Road SE, Suite 200, Smyrna, GA 30080.

Dr. Venu Konala began seeing patients at the new location on March 13.

Northside providers were honored when Georgia CORE recognized those who have made a made a difference with cancer care in the state in the past two decades.

The late Dr. Thomas Seay was recognized as one of 20 Trailblazers, the people who have made a lasting impact on cancer care in the state. A medical oncologist for more than 25 years, he was the president and managing partner of Atlanta Cancer Care, an affiliate of the Northside Hospital Cancer Institute at the time of his death in 2015. He also served as the chairman of Georgia CORE.

Dr. Guilherme Cantuaria, Dr. Jayanthi Srinivasiah and Dr. Amelia Zelnak were recognized as Today’s Innovators, the people who have embraced the original vision of Georgia CORE to work collaboratively throughout the state’s cancer ecosystem. These leaders continue to enhance cancer research and care for all Georgians.

Emily Beard, program coordinator of breast cancer and GYN oncology at the Northside Hospital Cancer Institute, received the Matt Mumber, M.D., Award for Excellence in Cancer Patient Navigation.

The Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce announced its 2023 Healthy Hall Awards of Excellence at a March 15 event.

The physician group’s Dr. Andre Kallab, hematology/oncology, was named Physician of the Year, while Radiology Manager Stephanie Kirby Ayers was named Healthcare Worker of the Year.
