Senate committee to hold second hearing on corrections facilities

The Senate Department of Corrections Facilities Study Committee, chaired by Majority Whip Sen. Randy Robertson (R–Cataula), will hold its second hearing on Wednesday, August 28, at 9:00 a.m.

This event is open to the public and will be live-streamed on the Senate website.

The meeting will include testimony from personnel members at the Georgia Department of Corrections and information related to employee investigations. The Department of Corrections Facilities Study Committee was created to examine current issues impacting the Georgia Department of Corrections’ ability to operate secure and safe facilities. The committee aims to determine whether legislative measures are necessary to ensure the welfare of the department’s employees and those in its custody.
