The House Democratic Caucus has re-elected State Representative Park Cannon from Atlanta as the House Minority Caucus Secretary. The election took place on Thursday, November 14, 2024.

Rep. Cannon expressed her gratitude towards her colleagues, stating, "I am deeply grateful to my Democratic colleagues for once again placing their trust in me as House Minority Caucus Secretary." She emphasized the importance of the upcoming legislative session in 2025, saying, "As we approach the 2025 legislative session, we are more determined than ever to champion the needs of everyday Georgians who have borne the weight of policies that fall short of safeguarding our communities. I am confident that under this renewed leadership, we will work tirelessly to restore balance and advance justice for all people across our state."

In her role as House Minority Caucus Secretary, Rep. Cannon is tasked with maintaining a record of all caucus meetings. This marks her sixth term serving in the Georgia House of Representatives and her third term holding this particular position.
