State Representative Tangie Herring (D-Macon) has been appointed to the Board of Trustees for the Central Georgia Technical College Foundation. Herring, who brings nearly 30 years of teaching experience, expressed her commitment to advancing educational opportunities in Georgia.
“I am honored to have been appointed to CGTC’s Board of Trustees,” said Rep. Herring. “Having nearly three decades of teaching experience, I feel called to continue helping Georgia’s students reach their full capacity and achieve academic success, and the CGTC Foundation grants opportunities to help students do just that. I look forward to working with the foundation to support their mission and ultimately, make secondary education more easily accessible to Georgia’s adult learners.”
The Central Georgia Technical College (CGTC) Foundation is a nonprofit organization that supports the college’s role in economic and workforce development across Central Georgia. The foundation works to raise community awareness about the college’s benefits and provides additional resources through private funding for projects such as capital improvements, equipment purchases, faculty development, and endowments.
“We are thrilled to appoint Representative Herring to our board,” said Tonya McClure, CGTC Associate Vice President for Advancement. “Her background in education and deep connection to our community will add valuable experience to the board as it continues its mission to support our students.”
The foundation serves students and partners with communities in several counties including Baldwin, Bibb, Crawford, Dooly, Houston, Jones, Monroe, Peach, Pulaski, Putnam, and Twiggs.
