In Forsyth, Georgia, ten dedicated officers have successfully graduated from the tenth Motor Carrier Officer School, underscoring their unwavering commitment to upholding core values as they prepare to serve in the Motor Carrier Compliance Division. This milestone event highlights the Department of Public Safety’s ongoing efforts to train and deploy skilled professionals dedicated to ensuring safety and compliance in the state’s motor carrier industry.
The graduation ceremony, titled “Ten Motor Carrier Compliance Division Officers Graduate from Tenth Motor Carrier School,” was attended by Colonel William Hitchens, III, and Lt. Colonel Kendrick Lowe, who delivered addresses to the graduates. Officer Nicholaus Ferguson, the class president, highlighted their journey and commitment to the Motor Carrier Compliance Division’s core values as they transition into their new roles.
Officer Ferguson expressed their pride in becoming the newest members of the Motor Carrier Compliance Division and their determination to uphold the core values and skills they acquired during their training. He stated, “As we transition into our new roles, we are proud to be the newest members of MCCD, and we will continue to uphold the core values and skills we learned during our training.”
According to the press release by the Department of Public Safety, four graduates were recognized for their exceptional achievements at the tenth Motor Carrier Officer School: Officer Wallace Boyd excelled in driving proficiency, Officer Nicholaus Ferguson displayed remarkable firearms proficiency, Officer Boyd received the “Top Gun” award, and Hunter Carr earned a scholarship of $500 with his impressive academic average of 83.98, which he’ll put toward a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice at Reinhardt University.
After completing 24 weeks of intensive training, these ten officers will be assigned to one of Georgia’s ten regions within the state.
