The Georgia Department of Transportation has announced a traffic shift on US 27 Alternate at Miller Road in Muscogee County, Georgia. The project involves replacing the northbound and southbound bridges over CR 1660/Miller Road. The new roadway will feature two 12-foot lanes, a 10-foot paved inside shoulder, and a 12-foot paved outside shoulder in each direction. These changes are planned for approximately half a mile of road.
A new traffic pattern will be implemented to facilitate construction on the southbound bridge. This change is scheduled for Saturday, June 7th, from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Traffic will remain open during this period.
Motorists are advised that dates may change due to weather or other factors and should expect delays while traveling through work zones. They are encouraged to exercise caution and reduce speed in these areas. For real-time updates on work status and traffic conditions, drivers can call 511, visit 511ga.org, or use the Georgia 511 app.
