. :. The Georgia Department of Transportation announced that, weather permitting, crews will shift traffic on Tuesday, June 6 to a new configuration on Old Alabama Road. The change will keep one lane open in each direction and is part of the ongoing widening project from near Lucas Road on State Route 113 to Paga Mine Road. The project is expected to be completed later this year.

The traffic shift will begin at 9 a.m. and is scheduled to be completed by 3 p.m. The affected area stretches between State Route 61 and Paga Mine Road. Motorists are advised to expect delays, exercise caution, and reduce speed while traveling through the construction zone.

Drivers are encouraged to check real-time information about work status and traffic conditions before heading out by calling 511, visiting 511ga.org, or downloading the Georgia 511 app. Maintenance teams continue their essential work while following sanitary practices prescribed by health agencies due to the coronavirus.
