On March 27, 2026, traffic at the intersection of State Route 16 and England Chapel/High Falls Road will be shifted into a roundabout pattern as part of ongoing construction, according to the Georgia Department of Transportation.

The change is part of Stage 3 in the project to build a center apron and concrete islands for the new roundabout. The shift aims to facilitate continued construction while maintaining traffic flow through the area.

The department said northbound traffic on England Chapel Road will be detoured east on State Route 16, then left onto Shiloh Road, followed by another left onto Walt Banks Road before returning to England Chapel Road. Southbound traffic will turn left onto Walt Banks Road, right on Shiloh Road, and then right onto State Route 16 before rejoining England Chapel Road south of the intersection.

An advisory from the Georgia Department of Transportation states that dates may change due to weather or other factors. Motorists are advised to expect delays, exercise caution, and reduce speed while traveling through work zones. Real-time information on work status and traffic conditions is available by calling 511, visiting 511ga.org, or using the Georgia 511 app.

For more details about this project and updates on potential changes in scheduling or detours, visit the Georgia Department of Transportation’s official announcement.
