West Jackson Elementary School has been named a Creative School, Arts Integration School of Excellence by the Georgia Department of Education, according to a June 4 announcement. The recognition highlights the school’s arts integration programs and initiatives that have been implemented across all subject areas.

The Creative School Arts Integration Program ensures that every student at West Jackson Elementary has access to arts integration within their curriculum. The school said its programs are rigorously designed and relevant to academic standards, offering students a comprehensive education in the arts. Ongoing professional development for staff, a structured program framework, and community engagement have also contributed to the program’s success.

“We extend our heartfelt congratulations on this achievement,” the school said in its statement.

Jackson County School System operates seven elementary schools, three middle schools, two high schools, and a career center serving more than 11,200 students in Jackson County, Georgia. The district provides comprehensive education from pre-kindergarten through 12th grade with an emphasis on academics, arts, and athletics to prepare students for future success. It has earned recognition as a Top Workplace by both the Atlanta Journal-Constitution and USA Today. These achievements contribute to well-rounded student development and foster cultural and social growth in the community through various academic and extracurricular programs, according to the official website.
