The Georgia Election Integrity Tour launched in a variety of towns across the state last month from Nov. 16 to 20.

The initiative launched with the support of over a dozen organizations, including the Heritage Foundation, Concerned Women for America and Americans for Citizen Voting. There were events in Columbus, Albany, Valdosta, Tifton, Macon, Savannah, Augusta, Athens, Gainesville, Helen and Kennesaw.

Jenny Beth Martin is a co-founder of Georgia Tea Party Patriots and according to its website, the Georgia chapter has grown to be the largest and most effective national umbrella group within the Tea Party movement under her leadership.

Martin said that she helped manage the Georgia Election Integrity Tour, which aimed to raise support for election security reforms and create election integrity task forces in the state.

"We had over 700 participants in person and almost everyone will likely join their local integrity task force," Martin told Peach Tree Times. "These task forces will be a great opportunity for citizens to get involved in securing the electoral process. A notable moment from the tour occurred in Peach Tree City where there was a woman who was only able to attend the latter half of the event but attended another one because she found it so valuable.

"Attendants in general were very glad to hear that there was a plan to address election integrity issues in the state. The ultimate goal of the tour and initiative is to build a permanent election integrity infrastructure to ensure election laws are being followed from early in the year all the way through certification of the votes. Training and research will be essential components to this process."

Because of her ongoing involvement in major events that set the course of the United States government, Martin is a recurring guest on almost every major television, radio, print and online news outlet in the country. In 2010, Time Magazine named Martin one of the 100 Most Influential Leaders in the World.
