AAHOA Statement on the Passing of Senator Johnny Isakson

Aahoa

Asian American Hotel Owners Association (AAHOA) recently issued the following announcement.

AAHOA President & CEO Ken Greene issued the following statement on the passing of former Sen. Johnny Isakson. “America’s hotel owners are heartbroken to learn about the passing of someone who was a true friend of AAHOA, Sen. Johnny Isakson. Sen. Isakson passed away Sunday morning at age 76 after battling Parkinson’s disease. He became one of Georgia’s most popular politicians, known for championing bipartisan cooperation. It wasn’t long until his reputation in Georgia preceded him during his 15-year run in the Senate.

Those who knew him well during his 40-year political career describe him as one of the kindest, most thoughtful, and decent public officials ever to serve the American people. The country and AAHOA will be forever grateful for Sen. Isakson’s legacy of selfless civil service and his dedication to improving the lives of hoteliers. The hospitality industry is like a family, and we all can relate to something Sen. Isakson used to say: The only division he saw was between ‘friends and future friends.’ AAHOA is thinking of Johnny’s wife, Dianne, his close family members, friends, and everyone who loved him during this difficult time.”
