Blake Harbin, U.S. congressional candidate for Georgia's 6th District, has recently spoken out about America's inflation problem, alleging that President Joe Biden is the root cause. He has joined financial institutions in predicting the country is headed in the direction of a recession, calling on Georgians to support his campaign for election this year.
"We all know Biden has destroyed our economy," Harbin said recently. "But we need solutions to fix it. This is exactly why I am asking the voters of the 6th District to hire me for Congress. I am an outsider and have decades of small-business experience. I can use that to get our economy and country back on the right path."
Inflation jumped to a record high last month, reaching 8.5% – the highest it's been in more than 40 years. Gas prices are spiraling, demand far outpaces supply for most food items and housing costs are out of the reach of many prospective home buyers.
During this week's earnings call, Bank of America CEO Brian Moynihan and CFO Alastair Borthwick commented that even with additional consumer investment, prices are not likely to go down this year, a Seeking Alpha report said.
Furthermore, Bank of America Chief Investment Strategist Michael Hartnett noted that inflation could end up producing an economic downturn in 2023, with "'inflation shock' worsening, 'rates shock' just beginning, 'recession shock' coming," a recent Fox Business report said.
Earlier this month, Deutsche Bank was the first big bank to warn of the economic issues facing the world and the impact they would have on continued inflation, which would likely lead to a worldwide economic meltdown, a CNN report said.
Harbin, who has built small financial-management and home-mortgage businesses for more than 20 years, is running for Congress representing Georgia's 6th District.
The GOP primary is crowded, with nine candidates competing, a report by Ballotpedia said. The primary election will be held May 24.
