Gov. Kemp Announces 32 Appointments to State Boards, Authorities, and Commissions

Governor Brian P. Kemp of Georgia has made significant announcements regarding the appointment and re-appointment of 32 individuals to various state boards, authorities, and commissions. The appointments cover a wide range of areas, showcasing the diverse expertise and experience of the appointees.

Among the appointments is Wayne Bennett, who has been appointed to the State Board of Pardons and Paroles. Bennett brings with him a wealth of experience from his time as the Sheriff of Glynn County, where he was recognized for his expertise in law enforcement and his service in the United States Army.

Laura Valentina Montoya Sosa has been appointed to the State Board of Registration of Used Motor Vehicle Dealers and Used Motor Vehicle Parts Dealers. Sosa, the owner and operator of Sosa Automotive Group, is known for her leadership skills, commitment to industry standards, and active involvement in community development.

Another notable appointment is Linda Adkison, who will serve on the Nonpublic Postsecondary Education Commission. Adkison, an associate provost at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, is an accomplished scientist and educator with a strong background in genetics and medical education.

The appointments also include individuals like Rakyah Washington-Watkins and Brooke Wright, who have been appointed to the Statewide Independent Living Council. Washington-Watkins, the owner of RSW Creations, LLC, and Wright, a dedicated advocate for autism awareness, bring unique perspectives and experiences to the Council.

One of the re-appointments includes Steve Syfan, who will continue to serve as the Chair of the Lake Lanier Islands Development Authority. Syfan, the Co-Founder and Executive Vice President of Syfan Logistics, has been recognized for his contributions to economic development in the region.
