Senator Frank Ginn joins new study committee on advancing forest innovation

Georgia State Senator Frank Ginn (R–Danielsville) has been appointed to serve on the Senate Advancing Forest Innovation in Georgia Study Committee, as per Senate Resolution 786. The committee, aimed at strengthening Georgia’s leadership in the forestry, timber, and forest products industries, will also include Senate President Pro Tempore and Committee Chairman John F. Kennedy (R–Macon), Senate Majority Leader Steve Gooch (R–Dahlonega), Sen. Russ Goodman (R–Cogdell), Sen. Larry Walker III (R–Perry), and Sen. Sonya Halpern (D–Atlanta).

Georgia’s forestry industry is a cornerstone of the state’s economy, providing essential jobs and supporting numerous families across the region. The formation of this committee underscores Georgia’s commitment to maintaining its leadership in these industries. As the leading state in the nation for forestry-related sectors, Georgia recognizes the significant role that forestry jobs and forestland investments play in supporting livelihoods throughout the state.

Senator Ginn commented on his appointment: “I am honored to join the Senate Advancing Forest Innovation in Georgia Study Committee. Georgia’s forestry industry is not only vital to our economy but also to the fabric of our communities. Through this committee, we have an opportunity to explore innovative solutions that will not only drive economic growth but also ensure the long-term health and sustainability of our forests. I would like to thank Lt. Governor Burt Jones for appointing me to serve.”

The committee will focus on examining how public policy can encourage continued investment in facilities that create sustainable manufacturing components, practices, energy sources, and other high-demand products derived from Georgia’s forest products. This initiative comes at a crucial time as the industry undergoes rapid transformations and seeks to meet global demand with innovative solutions.
