Georgia corrections study committee set for fifth meeting

The Senate Department of Corrections Facilities Study Committee will convene for its fifth meeting on Friday, December 13, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. The session will be chaired by Majority Whip Sen. Randy Robertson (R–Cataula) and is scheduled to take place at the State Capitol in Atlanta.

The committee was established to address issues affecting the Georgia Department of Corrections' ability to maintain secure and safe facilities. It aims to assess whether legislative actions are needed to safeguard both employees and those in custody within the department.
