State Representative Katie Dempsey has been appointed to the Committee on Assignments by House Speaker Jon Burns. Rep. Dempsey, who chairs the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Human Resources, expressed her gratitude for the appointment.
“I am truly honored to be appointed by Speaker Burns to serve on the House Committee on Assignments,” said Chairman Dempsey. She emphasized her commitment to working with integrity and diligence alongside fellow committee members. "Our goal will be to make thoughtful, purposeful decisions that will impact the committee process for the next two years," she added.
The Committee on Assignments, led by Speaker Burns, is responsible for determining all House committee assignments within the Georgia House of Representatives. As part of this role, Dempsey looks forward to contributing to legislation that serves Georgians' best interests during the 2025 legislative session.
