The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) continues to conduct essential road work across Southeast Georgia. Ongoing construction and maintenance activities are scheduled from April 19 through April 25. However, work schedules might change based on weather conditions or other unforeseen factors. Motorists are advised to drive cautiously, reduce speed through work zones, and remain alert for workers.
The advisory details numerous projects on major interstates and roads:
**Interstate 95:**
- In Camden County, overnight lane closures are in place at the St. Marys River Bridge as the Florida Department of Transportation undertakes repairs.
- Chatham County will see a northbound and southbound lane closure from milepost 90 to 91 for sign installation work. The work is scheduled nightly and includes bridge maintenance.
- Between Bryan and Chatham Counties, outside lane closures are in effect for concrete work. These occur nightly from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. with a closure range from November 10, 2024, to April 30, 2025.
**Interstate 16:**
- In Chatham County, the Chatham Parkway Bridge is undergoing various structural repairs, with nightly left lane closures from 6 p.m. to 5 a.m.
- Bulloch County has scheduled lane closures for concrete repairs and striping, operating nightly through the counties of Bulloch/Candler.
**Bridge and Roadway Closures:**
- Clinch County's Antioch Church Road over Surveyors Creek is closed for bridge replacement, with a scheduled detour in place until August 2025.
- Detours are set in Jeff Davis and Wayne Counties for bridge replacements and roundabout construction.
**Resurfacing Projects:**
- Liberty County and Montgomery County have periodic lane closures for pavement operations.
**Other Traffic Adjustments:**
- In Effingham County, work on SR 119's intersection involves daily lane closures. Meanwhile, SR 25 in Glynn County will have daily lane closures for roundabout construction and traffic management.
