Republican Sens. David Perdue and Kelly Loeffler conceded to their Democratic challengers in their Senate races.
Perdue conceded his Georgia runoff to Jon Ossof on Friday.
“Bonnie and I are deeply grateful for the support millions of Georgians have shown us this year and in the six years since we first ran for the United States Senate. Serving our home state has been the honor of a lifetime, and I am very proud of how our team in Georgia and Washington, D.C. fought every day to deliver real results for all eleven million Georgians,” Perdue said in a statement.
Acknowledging that his general election vote total did not reach the required 50 percent, he congratulated Ossof.
“Although we won the general election, we came up just short of Georgia’s 50 percent rule, and now I want to congratulate the Democratic Party and my opponent for this runoff win,” Perdue said.
He conceded after Loeffler made her concession to Raphael Warnock.
Loeffler likewise expressed her gratitude to her supporters and made certain that she will continue to fight for conservative values.
"I want to thank every Georgian and every single American who believed in me and our campaign," Loeffler said. "We accomplished so much in a short time. ... unfortunately, we came up slightly short in the runoff election."
"Rest assured the fight to advance the American dream is far from over. The fight to protect conservative values is far from over, and the fight against socialism and the radical agenda of the left is very far from over. I fully intend to stay in this fight for freedom, for our values and for the future of this great country," Loeffler stated.
