Georgia basketball graduates Que Morrison and Jenna Staiti are the Lady Bulldogs’ representatives on the coaches' 2021 Preseason All-Southeastern Conference Second Team.
A university-issued press release said Morrison and Staiti are two of the nine players on the second team.
The pair were huge contributors to a UGA team that last season compiled a 21-7 overall record and bowed in the second round of the NCAA Tournament, according to the release.
"Morrison and Staiti were Georgia's top two scorers and rebounders a year ago,” the university said in the release. “The two combined to average 26.4 points per game and 13.5 boards per contest.”
For their respective efforts, Morrison, the SEC’s steals leader with 33 thefts in 2021, garnered the 2021 SEC Co-Defensive Player of the Year award while Staiti, a member of a hallowed sorority of Lady Bulldogs who have scored over 1,000 career points, grabbed over 500 rebounds, and swatted over 150 shots, landed on the 2021 All-SEC Second-Team.
The release said that Morrison, of Riverdale, Georgia, has SEC All-Defensive Team and SEC Academic Honor Roll honors to her name, and Staiti, who is in her sixth year of eligibility, was the conference’s top shot-blocker last year with a total of 85 deflected.
A preseason poll projects UGA to finish fourth in the SEC.
