Police are investigating a threat relating to a social media post regarding McEachern High School in Powder Springs.

"The safety of our students and staff and the security of our school campuses remain our highest priority," a Cobb County Public Schools district spokesperson told Fox 5 Atlanta.

Police plan to be present on campus as long as the investigation remains open, Fox 5 Atlanta reported.

The threat against the school was posted on the morning of Jan. 25. School officials are urging parents, students or staff members with concerns or information to contact the school district's tip line at 470-689-0298.

This is not the first time McEachern high school found itself involved in a social media threat. A post made in 2018 claimed that someone was planning a school shooting. "The white kid was saying he is going to shoot up the school today (Mceachern) because a bunch of kids were bullying him idk if I'm going to school tmr," the creator of the post said.
