U.S. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) said she felt threatened by a Jimmy Kimmel joke and reported the comedian to Washington, D.C., police, Fox 5 reported.
Kimmel called Taylor Greene a "klan mom," and then made a reference to actor Will Smith slapping comedian Chris Rock during the recent Academy Awards ceremony, Fox 5 Atlanta reported.
"Where is Will Smith when you really need him?" Kimmel said on his show, "Jimmy Kimmel Live!"
The congresswoman shared a clip of the joke to her Twitter page, Fox 5 Atlanta reported.
"ABC, this threat of violence against me by Jimmy Kimmel has been filed with the Capitol Police," Greene said in the Twitter post.
Kimmel's monologue was in regard to Greene claiming that Sens. Lis Murkowoski (R-AK), Susan Collins (R-ME) and Mitt Romney (R-UT) were in support of pedophilia because they were in favor of Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson's U.S. Supreme Court confirmation, Fox 5 Atlanta reported.
"Officer? I would like to report a joke," Kimmel said in a tweet in response to Greene's post.
Greene filed suit recently asking a judge to permit her to vie for reelection after an election and campaign finance reform group challenged her eligibility on the grounds that she was involved in the Capitol riot on Jan. 6, 2021, Fox 5 Atlanta reported. The case will be heard before an administrative law judge.
