According to a study, kids in Head Start programs saw higher high school graduation and college attendance rates

Eatonton, Ga. — U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff is expanding pre-school opportunities for kids in Putnam County.

Sen. Ossoff is delivering new resources for the Putnam County Early Learning Program in Eatonton, Georgia, to help families access early childhood education and developmental programs and give kids the opportunities to learn and grow.

The new resources, which Sen. Ossoff secured with bipartisan support in Congress, will help the Putnam County Early Learning Program provide comprehensive services to children to enhance their cognitive, social, and emotional development.

“I am delivering these resources for early childhood education at Putnam County Early Learning Program because every child in Georgia deserves a safe, healthy, and happy preschool education,” Sen. Ossoff said.

According to Head Start, programs support children’s growth from birth to age 5 through services that support early learning and development, health, and family well-being. Head Start staff actively engage parents, recognizing family participation throughout the program as key to strong child outcomes.

The Putnam County Early Learning Program empowers families and collaborates with the surrounding community to provide well-rounded early childhood learning to Georgia kids aged three through Pre-Kindergarten.

The $1,431,854 will come through the Head Start Projects program.

The national Head Start program currently supports nearly one million children under the age of five on their early learning and development.
