On Aug. 15, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) announced Global Entry enrollment events, streamlining trusted traveler interviews for Gulf Coast applicants. The enrollment events will take place in Memphis, Aug. 16 to Aug. 20 and Little Rock, Aug. 23 to Aug. 27.
“We recognize that Global Entry is a very popular trusted traveler program and that there is a significant demand for Global Entry interviews,” said Steven Stavinoha, CBP’s Director of Field Operations in New Orleans, according to an Aug. 15 press release from CBP. “These enrollment events in Memphis and Little Rock will allow Customs and Border Protection to better serve our Gulf Coast trusted travelers by accommodating a large number of interview appointments.”
According to the press release, CBP has unveiled plans to expand the availability of Global Entry enrollment events, a move aimed at addressing the surge in demand for the trusted traveler program. These events, scheduled to take place in Memphis and Little Rock, will provide a more convenient process for Gulf Coast travelers seeking Global Entry interviews.
Managed under the Department of Homeland Security’s Trusted Traveler programs, Global Entry grants pre-approved members expedited security procedures during screenings, contributing to heightened efficiency and security in trade and travel, according to the press release. Notably, as outlined in the announcement, the program, which boasts more than 10 million members, operates across various entry points into the United States, including land, air, and seaports and preclearance locations worldwide. Additionally, successful applicants of Global Entry gain access to the coveted TSA PreCheck program, further streamlining their travel experience.
The announcement highlighted the meticulous vetting process for prospective participants in Trusted Traveler programs, emphasizing rigorous and recurring background checks. Notably, in-person interviews remain a mandatory step in the enrollment process, ensuring the integrity of the program.
Locations for the extended enrollment events are as follows:
Memphis GE Enrollment Event: Scheduled for Aug. 16 to Aug. 20, between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. at the U.S. Customs and Border Protection Area Port of Memphis, located at 2813 Business Park Drive, Building 1, Memphis, TN 38118.
Little Rock GE Enrollment Event: Slated for Aug. 23 to Aug. 27, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the U.S. Customs and Border Protection Port of Little Rock, situated at 1 Airport Road, Little Rock, AR 72202. This event will be held on the second floor of Bill and Hillary Clinton National Airport, near the Riverbend Grill and the TSA checkpoint.
The announcement also clarified that conditionally approved applicants without prior appointments will be accommodated on a space-available basis.
