Sen. Emanuel Jones (D–Decatur) has expressed his approval for the $50,000 allocation to the Malachi Project, an after-school discipleship program based in Decatur, Georgia. This funding is part of the Fiscal Year (FY) 2025 Budget. The Malachi Project has earned recognition for its significant contribution to shaping young lives in the community.

The Malachi Project offers a comprehensive program that fosters children's development through Bible study, practical living skills, recreation, mentoring and lessons on key values such as integrity, forgiveness and respect.

“Supporting initiatives like the Malachi Project is essential for the betterment of our community and the future of our youth,” said Sen. Emanuel Jones. “By providing a nurturing environment where young people can develop acadically, socially and morally, the Malachi Project is paving the way for a brighter future for these children. I applaud the General Assembly for crafting a FY 2025 Budget that recognizes the importance of this nonprofit organization, an investment in the future of our children.”

Currently serving 50 students weekly, the Malachi Project aims to expand its impact through initiatives like Adopt-A-Student. This initiative provides individuals with an opportunity to make a monthly commitment to support the program. Contributions will be used towards providing meals, transportation, school supplies and more.
