Senator Derek Mallow issues statement on Apalachee High School shooting

ATLANTA (September 4, 2024) — Today, Sen. Derek Mallow (D–Savannah) issued a statement regarding the shooting at Apalachee High School in Barrow County.

"My prayers go out to the Apalachee High School community, teachers, staff, faculty, administrators and the parents who are affected by the tragic events today," said Sen. Mallow. "I am reminded of the scripture in Psalm 34:18 that the Lord draws near the brokenhearted. I pray for comfort for these families and this community. I pray the Lord to grant them comfort."
