Sen. Ed Harbison recognizes the Western Hemisphere Institute for Security Cooperation
ATLANTA (September 6, 2024) — Today, Sen. Ed Harbison (D–Columbus) recognized the Western Hemisphere Institute for Security Cooperation (WHINSEC) for its role in providing professional education and training to military, civilian, and law enforcement personnel.
Sen. Harbison welcomed WHINSEC program members during their visits to the Georgia State Capitol on August 8, August 21, and September 6, 2024. He expressed his enthusiasm for the program: “WHINSEC is a testament to the power of education and collaboration. This institution’s dedication to developing leaders of integrity and skill is unparalleled. I am confident that these leaders will champion the core values of human rights and democracy for generations to come. As we confront complex security challenges, our state and nation can always rest assured that WHINSEC is working to strengthen the mutual defense of our western hemisphere.”
