Voters in Georgia have until 5 p.m. on November 7 to address any issues with their vote-by-mail or provisional ballots to ensure they are counted. This deadline is crucial for those who encountered signature problems or other discrepancies with their ballots.
Rosario Palacios, Common Cause Georgia’s organizing director, emphasized the importance of this process: “We need every Georgian to have their voices heard in this election, which is why those who voted-by-mail should use the ballot tracking tool on their county Supervisor of Elections website to ensure their ballot was received without issue.” She added that while Supervisors of Elections should notify voters of any signature problems, it remains essential for voters to verify their ballot status online.
To resolve a signature issue on a vote-by-mail ballot, voters must visit the my voter page portal to check their ballot status and provide a copy or photo of the required identification forms. These documents, along with any signed forms, must be submitted via email, fax, or delivered to the county supervisor of elections office by the deadline. Additionally, someone other than the voter can deliver these documents.
Common Cause Georgia advises voters to track their mail ballots by contacting their county Supervisor of Elections office or using the ‘my voter page’ available in most counties. Voters who cast provisional ballots should reach out to the Supervisor of Elections office for guidance on necessary documentation.
